Essential Line Dances Volume 1 was made for you if:
These are some great dances. Not too hard, not too easy...just right! It's dances like these that have kept me interested in line dancing over the years. The Cactus Cha-Cha is a dance that we always knew as "Neon Moon" back when the song first came out. It also happened to be the name of the dance club I had opened with my parents back in '93 and was the theme song for our dance team in competitions. I loved those days!
The Cowboy Twist and the Ten Step are probably the most upbeat and most fun to do in a crowd. I've always loved doing the Cowboy Twist to Swing The Mood (dance mix) by Jive Bunny. It's not exactly country, but the song sure fits the dance and that's often times more important to me.
Now, with the longest dance being only 32 counts on this DVD, it's easy to go through and learn them all quickly. A few of the dances have a wide variety of songs they go to (Cactus Cha-Cha, the Ten Step, Boardwalk, County Line Cha-Cha, & West Coast Shuffle); while others are specific and usually don't fluctuate (Redneck Girl, The Cowboy Twist). Remember: no absolutes here - the music may change depending on your instructor and your DJ.
NOTE: I went out dancing at the Dallas Bull in Tampa, FL on October 30, 2009 and every single one of these dances on this DVD were played in the 3 hours that I was there. Just a great testiment to these being the right dances for this DVD.
The Essential Line Dance series will rapidly increase your line dance knowledge, expertise, and proficiency. Essential Line Dances Volume 1 contains a variety of fun line dances including:
Filmed in HD and presented with multiple camera angles and Picture-In-Picture technology, you won't want to miss how easy these dances can be with the rightinstructor and a unique learning setup using a "what you see is what you dance" format..If you've never danced before, Shawn Trautman's "Line Dance 101: A Quick Start Guide to Line Dancing" should precede this DVD. Otherwise, this DVD is best complemented by Essential Line Dances Volume 2.
* Note: Shawn moves a little bit faster through these dances than he does in Line Dance 101 as well as in Party Line Dances being that he's not explaining how to do each and every kind of step; however, the instruction is still very thorough and set up for beginners. The Essential Series was put out to help provide a foundation of popular line dances that you can find anywhere. Shawn makes it easy enough for anyone to pick them up as it's presented many different ways in a professional and fun manner.
