What's my candid take on Swing for Beginners V1?
Swing was the dance that got me hooked on dancing and one that I still love. East Coast Swing, specifically, was my favorite for years, though I think it was easier to dance faster when I was a teenager.
This DVD is a fun one that goes through two different types of Swing, single-time and triple time (aka East Coast Swing). It's essential you learn both as they're ultimately the same dance to two different speeds of music. If you dance a lot, you'll definitely want to know when to use one or the other.
If you're a beginner, I highly recommend giving this one a shot. We assume you know nothing about dancing and start you out from the absolute beginning. We throw in lots of easy to remember tips and tricks along with the practice sessions so your muscle memory is constantly being tapped. Also, you'll see how household items (if you have kids) can really help your dance. Getting you to learn the true principles behind lead and follow dancing is what our goal was with this one and it has worked beautifully.
Take a look at this one and start using it at almost any venue. It's one of the most versatile dances you'll ever learn and you'll never have a shortage of partners if you dance it well. Hope you enjoy!
